Hopefully by now, everyone understands the need for a blog, especially when it comes to your business. Not only does your blog provide value to your reader, it lets them get to know you a little better which in turn gets them to trust you and buy from you. Keeping up a blog can be a little challenging at first. You might be wondering “what can I possibly write about every day?!”. The good thing with a blog is you don’t have to update it everyday, but to keep your site relevant, I recommend posting at least 3 times per week.
So how do you come up with topics to write about on your blog? When I’m thinking of what to write about for this website, I think of 3 things:
Recent problems I’ve had in my business - I’m guessing if I’m having the problem, there are others having the problem too. Writing about it allows me to get feedback from other readers and hopefully find a solution. Even if you are not looking for a solution ,writing about a problem can allow you to vent and sometimes you come up with your own solution!
Recent problems I’ve solved in my business- Writing about problems in your business and how you fixed them are more great ideas for content for your blog. People like to read about real events, struggles and triumphs so writing about them in your blog lets other people know more about your story.
Information I’ve learned from trainings or research – Sometimes I just want to learn more about a subject and when I do this, I tend to write about my findings. It’s a great way to introduce new readers to your website.
Remember to think of your audience when you are writing. What do they really want to read about? If you are providing a problem or service, provide your customers with value. The goal is to provide regular content that benefits the reader and gets them to take action, with you!
